Local Club Receives International Assistance

Tony Moffa, 23 April 2009

I am from Velo Sport Cycling Club here in Jersey www.velosportjersey.com

We are an amateur cycling club. We are sponsored by a few local companies on a 3 year deal at the moment so when our kits changed over to the new ones in 2008, we needed to find a good home for the old kits. My wife Lindsey found some information on the internet on the SA federation (Pedal Power Organisation) and they referred us to Trevor Knowlden's Freewheelers project as a good cause.

It was a stroke of luck that she found Freewheelers as she was just keen to get rid of the boxes of old cyclng kit from our house!

Anyway, as if that was not a big enough coincidence, we got UPS to agree to ship the kits at cost price for us! Then as if by even more amazing luck, one of our own riders and a good friend of mine Michael Keghrey was on his wy to SA to ride the Cape Argus!

So as an Ambassador to the club, Michael agreed to meet Trevor and check out the Freewheelers! Since then, Michael has come back to Jersey full of admiration and good reports about Trevor and his amazing dedication to the cause. I think our committe are keen to continue the friendship and occasionally send over more kits or even spare parts and componants over the coming years.
